Surprise!
I told you I had been working on the screensavers. Now, for you
computer wizards out there, these babies might would've probably been a good
morning's work. For me? Well, let's just say it took a tad longer. Still,
there are no frills here, no bell and whistles--and puleeease don't expect
music. I can't figure out how to add it without the file becoming too big
to download. I'll figure out that kink if it's the last thing I do. ~smile~
Now, here in the country we don't have that fancy internet
connection. When I tested it, the average download took five minutes
from here. I hope it downloads faster for you, but who knows?
I never said I was a computer genius.
If you're still interested in what I've been up to after all those excuses, (~smile~), here
are the trial runs from little ole' me and my new software. If I've got this thing
figured out right, all you have to do is click on the one you want to see and your
computer will lead you throught the rest. :-)

All Things Southern Screensavers:
"Harvest" I thought the pictures I took of the men harvesting the corn made a pretty screensaver. I hope you think so, too. There's an interesting photo at the
end that proves I'm not vain. ~smile~
"Southern Beauty" This is a lovely antebellum home in town, with a very interesting civil war history. (That's another story.) No, I don't get to live
there, but the nice folks who do have always been very nice about "sharing" their home with the rest of us. I even took my wedding announcement photos on that front lawn years ago.
For just a brief moment, I felt like Scarlett. ~smile~
"Lake Scenes" This is my attempt at capturing the many moods of beautiful Lake Providence. There's a lot of history here too. During the war General Grant actually tried to dig a canal
from our Lake and connect it to the Mississippi to bypass the Confederate army at Vicksburg, Mississippi. Although he abandoned the project, we have a dock across from our tourist center where
guests can walk out and see his early efforts. Oh, and let me admit right up front that the lake pictures seem fuzzier than the others and I don't know why. Oh, to be
a computer nerd....
