Welcome to All Things Southern's Yellow Ribbon Gallery

Hello,

I'm PFC James Rushing Guenard. My friends and family call me "Rusty". I'm honored that my Aunt Shellie is letting me host this special "Yellow Ribbon Gallery". I'm with the #296th Medical Company of the United States Army. I'm currently stationed in Fort Polk, Louisiana, pending deployment to the Gulf.

From my earliest memory, I've wanted to be a soldier. Though I'm apprehensive about what lies ahead, I stand behind my President and I encourage you to do the same.

The pictures below are either your fellow porchers or their loved ones that are serving in the various branches of our military. Please pray for us all.

God Bless America,
PFC James Rushing "Rusty" Guenard

P.S. Here's an ironic note for the porch. Last week I ran into a childhood friend here, Jennifer Lylles. The last time I saw Jennifer I was about ten years old, dressed in full camo and playing army with my buddies. When my comrades and I slipped into enemy territory, (Jennifer's yard), she promptly peppered me in the throat with her b-b gun. I'm trying to stay on Jennifer's good side. Sadaam and his guys are on their own.

UPDATE: 4/5/03
My company has now been deployed. My family came to Fort Polk to see me off. You can see my Aunt Shellie's photo journal of our sendoff here.

UPDATE: 7/20/03
